Barbie and Negative Nancy
Work for RIT's Positive/Negative Magazine 2011
Positive/Negative Magazine is an award-winning publication produced by the Editorial Design class at RIT. 20 design students and 20 photo students collaborate on three editorial projects of varying topics presented either positively or negatively. The best of these projects are published in the magazine. I was on the staff as one of the magazine's Copy Editors and had two of my projects accepted for publication in the final product.

How to Spot a Negative Nancy

There is always that one person at a partywho ruins everything with their pessimism. Photographer Mark Chamberlin and I created a handy guide to help you learn what types of Negative Nancys are out there and how to avoid them.

Barbie and the Power of Imagination
Photographer Joi Ong and I had a mission: to produce a project that would involve unicorns. We found our mystical vehicle in the subject of Barbie and how, by being a blank slate who can be anything, the doll promotes imagination and a can-do attitude in young girls. The project combined high fashion and girly girl aesthetics,
resulting in a truly magical spread.
